A very fine cancelled to order used example with 'UMTALI' circular date stamp, dated 'NO 13 98'. A most attractive used example of this fine early Rhodesian stamp. Rhodesia, named after Cecil Rhodes, the founder of the British South Africa Company, joined the South African Postal Union on 1 August 1892. At this point, its stamps became valid for international mail. The stamps issued throughout 1890
